A positive platformer with puzzles, large locations and plots.
The project is announced for platforms: Nintendo Switch, Windows.
IMPORTANT REMARK
As practice has shown, I’m still a platformer cancer. Yes, and I still couldn’t fully adapt to the controls. So I couldn’t get too deep into the game. Therefore, only a first glance.
A terrible war raged in the world, as a result of which a super-weapon was created – Phoenix. He was so strong that everyone dug into underground bunkers. But now it’s time to go outside. The survivors created a village, and here the adventures of the girl for whom we will play will begin.
Gameplay – platformer with puzzles and a lot of locations.
We are given an unchanging hero – a girl named Gail.
The village is done well. It is large (many buildings and rooms), well-developed, there are many NPCs with whom you can chat and receive tasks.
As far as I understand after completing the first story mission, the remaining levels are worked out with the same quality. Personally, I even started to get confused, I really have to work hard to remember where to go.
The platform part is probably done well. Paradoxically, I drew this conclusion from the fact that I got tired of it. I have exactly the same feelings from periodically playing the NES packed on Ali and those same games on cartridges – it’s hard, almost hopeless, painful.
In this case, everything is not even so sad. There are save points, their location is convenient.
During our hikes we can find items for inventory. As a rule, this is food that restores life. But there may be weapons and functional items.
You can additionally cook food https://versaillescasino.co.uk/withdrawal/ over fires by taking part in a simple QTE.
The main mechanics of the game are puzzles. At least the ones I’ve seen aren’t very complicated. Place the box on the button, line it with the lever. Judging by the trailers, there are more difficult things to come.
There are also enemies. Toads, slugs, some armored worms. Our combat system is the ability to hit with melee weapons, shoot from a slingshot.
Leveling up comes down to finding more powerful weapons and collecting special stones that will passively improve Gail’s properties.
As positive, one can note the kindness and positive humor that shines through.
A LITTLE ABOUT SAD
I just really didn’t like playing with a keyboard and mouse. This was especially in contrast to the recent excellent Skul: The Hero Slayer – here, too, the keyboard initially had terrible key assignments, but at least it could have been remade and you could get a convenient game.
Everything about the controls here is sad:
1) The assigned keys are inconvenient.
2) The mouse is not used. Although when setting up the control it suddenly turns on and it is written about it, they say use it now! Well, turn it on in the game – it would be much more convenient.
3) There is running and fast running. What for?? With a system where there are already so many inconvenient buttons, it would be better to make one. At the same time, sometimes you can only jump with accelerated running, and sometimes with a blow. I’m not that much of a pianist.
4) The kick jump is performed poorly. It turns out well if one of the four is as it should be. The point is in the crooked mechanics of the blow, the blow seems to be delayed relative to the jump.
5) There was a sad moment when a significant upgrade stone fell inconveniently and I didn’t have time to pick it up. By the time I figured it out, he disappeared. The point is that the game violates the very prescribed mechanics of jumping down. As it turned out, it was necessary to break this stand, and not jump from it.
Let’s look at the pros and cons of the game and summarize.
+ Excellent soundtrack.
+ Wonderful atmosphere of kindness.
+ Good locations. The levels are divided into a mass of separate rooms and rooms.
+ Quite interesting puzzles.
+ Excellent Russian text localization.
WHAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS
+- The graphics are very pixelated. Few pixels. But it looks nice nonetheless. Personally I liked it.
+- Jumping in NES style – you have to jump accurately. Some people will like it, but others will have pain.
– Problems in control, coupled with the requirement for very precise jumping.
For fans of puzzle platformers who enjoy these types of games, this could be a lot of fun. But personally, I found it a little difficult due to the not very well thought out keyboard and mouse controls.
PS: I probably didn’t cover all the aspects, I might have missed something. I will be glad to add/correct the review or answer questions along the way in the comments.
